A Fresh Perspective on Divorce

Laura, 42, announced her split from her husband of 13 years, Alex Goward, in 2022. Despite the challenges, she has taken a positive approach, viewing the end of her marriage as an opportunity for growth.

“If two people can’t make it, [can’t] be together, then it’s the best for everyone,” Laura shared in a candid interview. “I’m a very strong, independent woman, and I have been my entire life. I don’t need a relationship; I just want to be on my own. And it’s better for everyone that way.”

With her characteristic optimism, Laura added, “No one knows what’s around the corner. I always try to go, ‘Right, that’s happened, and that’s going to make me stronger.’”

Balancing Career and Family

As the proud mother of two children, Rocco, 11, and Tahlia, 9, Laura is committed to instilling strong values in them. She has seamlessly blended her professional and personal lives, often taking her children on her travels.

“My children have traveled with me since they were three weeks old,” Laura reminisced, highlighting how those experiences have shaped their appreciation of different cultures, foods, and languages.

Renovation Passion and a Grand Project

Laura’s passion for property renovation, which began when she was 19, is as strong as ever. She is currently tackling a “massive” project in Mallorca, transforming a six-bedroom townhouse into a four-bedroom home with a plunge pool.

“Renovating overseas is very different from renovating in the UK,” she explained. “It’s going to be a bit of a grand design-esque transformation. I just enjoy the process, and I love everything about interior design, dressing houses, and even wallpapering.”

Exciting Career Milestones

Laura continues to thrive professionally. A Place in the Sun recently moved to a prime-time slot at 6 PM, with brand-new episodes airing over the next nine weeks. Additionally, Laura appeared on a celebrity edition of The Chase, joining forces with other stars to raise money for charity.

She also hosts a popular podcast, The Mile Fly Club, where she shares travel tips and interviews notable guests like Bradley Walsh. “It’s been amazing to connect with people and share stories about travel, family, and life,” she said.

Embracing the Future

With her 40s bringing newfound confidence, Laura is focused on living in the moment. “Age is just a number. Every stage of your life is about learning and building the blocks to get to where you are,” she reflected.

As she prepares for an exciting year ahead, Laura remains an inspiring figure of resilience, ambition, and positivity. “2025 is going to be exciting, with new plans on the horizon,” she shared, reminding her fans that even in challenging times, strength and perseverance can lead to remarkable transformations.
