Kevin Bridges’ Generosity Shines: £20,000 CHAS Donation Caps Milestone Year for Scottish Children’s Hospice Charity

Scots comedian Kevin Bridges has donated £20,000 to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), capping off an incredible year for the charity. The funds will support CHAS’s vital work at Rachel House in Kinross, Robin House in Balloch, and across Scotland, providing care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Bridges, who recently became a father, expressed a deepened appreciation for the charity’s efforts. “As parents ourselves now, the hearts of my wife and I go out more than ever to everyone at Robin House, Rachel House, and all the children and families supported by CHAS services across Scotland,” he said.

CHAS CEO Rami Okasha praised Bridges for his longstanding support. “Each week in Scotland, three children die from an incurable condition, and CHAS can only be there for families thanks to kind donations like this,” Okasha stated. “No one should have to face the death of a child alone, and Kevin’s generosity makes an enormous difference in ensuring we can be there for those who need us most.”

The donation follows the launch of CHAS’s Christmas Appeal and comes after a remarkable year for the charity. This summer, the Hairy Highland Coo Trail, a public art exhibition featuring colorful cow sculptures across Perthshire, brought crowds to the area, culminating in a charity auction that raised over £272,000.

A Year of Celebrity Support

Bridges’ contribution is one of several high-profile endorsements CHAS has received this year. In the summer, Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor visited Rachel House and auctioned 150 bottles of his personal whisky, raising an impressive £135,000 for the charity.

Beyond CHAS, Bridges has extended his generosity to other causes, including a £30,000 donation to the West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare and £10,000 to the youth charity Y Sort It. He also supported Bags Full of Love, Launch Foods, Improving Lives, and the DRC Youth Project.

In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, Bridges encouraged others to support these organizations, even with simple gestures like following them online. “Read about the great work that they are doing. In a world where the pricks reign supreme at the minute, it is good for the soul to know that these people are out there helping the vulnerable members of their communities,” he said.
