Television and radio presenter Fearne Cotton has announced her separation from husband Jesse Wood after a decade of marriage.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Friday, Cotton, 43, wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been, and always will be, our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
The couple married in a London ceremony in July 2014 after meeting in Ibiza in 2011. Wood, 48, is the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and has two children, Arthur, 21, and Lola, 18, from his previous marriage. Together, Cotton and Wood share two children: an 11-year-old son, Rex, and an 8-year-old daughter, Honey.
This announcement follows Cotton’s recent health updates. Earlier this month, she underwent surgery to remove two benign tumors from her jawline. Cotton reassured fans that the operation was successful and thanked them for their support.
“Operation went really well. Recovering and resting. Thanks so much for all the kind messages,” she shared on Instagram. Cotton, also urged her followers to prioritize their health, explaining how she discovered the tumors: “I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago but this year noticed it was growing. Turns out it’s a benign tumor and another small one above it on the saliva gland. If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked. I’m so glad I did.”
Cotton’s career spans decades, beginning with children’s television in the late 1990s before moving on to iconic shows such as Top of the Pops, The Xtra Factor, and Celebrity Juice. She also made history as the first regular female presenter of BBC Radio 1’s Chart Show in 2007. Since 2016, Cotton has been hosting Sounds of the 90s on BBC Radio 2.
Her popular podcast, Happy Place, featuring interviews with celebrities like David Tennant and Riley Keough, will continue uninterrupted despite her recovery.
While Wood has not yet commented publicly on the divorce, the couple’s focus remains on their children as they navigate this transition privately.
